Last March 3, 2007, the University of the Philippines Stargazers Society specifically thew fourth year members joined the Saturn watch (overnight) held at the University of San Carlos Talamban Campus Soccer Field. This activity was organized by the University of San Carlos Physics Society. We the fourth years are the only high school students joining the said activity for most of the participants there are all college students. Some are pure Physics students, others came from BS Biology, Nursing, etc.
Before going to USCTC, we the fourth years meet at UP High. There we waited a lot of time to wait for the others to come. Then after all were complete we started walking along the Molave Street going to Ayala. We then rode 13C in going to our destination. It was a nice experience for us and at the same time it is a moment of bonding and friendship.
Inside the jeep, we chatted with each other. Our voices were so loud that we all look like inside a Carbon Market. We cannot blame each and everyone of us because we all know that we are all excited to the said activity. We arrived there at around eight in the evening. Then we had registered ourselves then we tour around the campus. After a few minutes of touring around we then looked for a place where we can stay. The first thing that happened was the getting to know of each other session, wherein each and everyone of us introduced ourselves. After the acquaintance we then proceed to the viewing of the Saturn on Mr. Go's telescope with Mr. Go himself assisting. With Mr. Go were two astronomers who came from Japan and U.S. The good thing about them is they just flew in from abroad for them to be with us in viewing Saturn. We had so many activities there. Including eating and chatting with each other.
A BS Physics graduate of USC was there introducing to us a software where we can see what planet or constellation will be visible in the night during that day in the different places around the world. We were amazed if what we saw.
The best thing that happened was during our boding time wherein we were in our place and each and everyone of us are sharing each other's food. Sir Elmer was there with his friend during that night. Then we sang songs, chat with each other, made fun with each other. All were happy and were enjoying the night. Al did not sleep during the night until came dawn. We woke up then eat again and then started packing up the things. Before we left USC- TC, we received first our certificates prepared by the PHYSoc and then we had our group picture with each other. The funny thing was we were very sleepy at that time. I wonder how we all look in that picture.
