The LookStrephon kissed me in the spring,
Robin in the fall,
But Colin only looked at me
And never kissed at all.Strephon's kiss was lost in jest,
Robin's lost in play,
But the kiss in Colin's eyes
Haunts me night and day.
-- Sara Teasdale
The look is a poem about a woman who has all the beauty in the world that made her have three suitors. These three of them are namely Strephon, Colin and Robin. They had their unique wayin expressing their love to this woman.
In the first stanza you can see that Strephon kisses her in the spring but Robin also did the same thing but it was in the fall. On the second stanza it shows how meaningful Colin's eye to eye contact with her. For her this was the most meaningful way of expressing his love to her.
On the third line, Strephon's kiss was lost immediately so with robin's. But for her the kiss in Colin's eyes were in her mind all day and night.
This selection only implies that eyes of human are the windows of our heart. All the feelings of a person can be seen in just a glimpse at his / her eyes. You can see in their eyes the real personality of a person. Eyes may tell us how we should go with that person.
Sara Teasdale’s “The Look” tells us that with just a glimpse of an eye a man can attract a woman.
