On Being Taught by students

KYSD or the Know Your School Day was a success as ever. It is the time where emotions towards the teachers came out. Students like me became very emotional during these times. This is also the time where we as a student will try to be a teacher for this week long celebration.
For my four years here in UP, I have been a student teacher since my second year but now that I am in my fourth year I stopped the trend. I want to feel how is it to feel if our fellow classmates taught us.

After the KYSD, I then learned that it's a nice feeling that we as the students feel how is it like to be a teacher. We have feel how is hard to be one. We feel the advantages and disadvantages of becoming a teacher.

Being taught by my fellow classmates has always been fun and at the same time an exciting experience which I have experienced. I enjoyed listening to my classmates discussing the lessons. And with it, I was not afraid to answer the questions that they are raising. I really admire them because the subjects that they are teaching are my most dreaded subjects. They really brave enough to face such challenge and at the same time opportunity.

Love:An Act of Will and not of the Heart

What is love?

Love is a feeling that only a feeling can understand.

Love is patient and love is kind (Corinthians 13:4-8)

Love is friendship set to music.

Love is an act of a tender forgiveness.

Love is the sweetest joy in the wildest way.

Love is friendship set on fire.

Love is a flower in life, it blossoms secretively yet all the people will benefit from it.

To love and to be loved is to feel the sun in both sides of your life.

Love is a force that ignites to souls together as one.
Love is hapiness.

These are just some of the descriptions of love but for me one thing is for sure and that is love comes in an unexpected time. People may think that it is our will to love. God created Adam and Eve so that there will be love in His paradise.

They say love is an act of the mind but not the heart. I agree to this statement. This is because love at first is a feeling,it is an expression of once desire to others. It is an act of the mind because our mind controls our body including the heart. How will the heart function if there is no brain? It sounds silly right but that is the truth.

When two people loved each other, their mind is the one functioning it first so that the heart can function on its own. The heart serves to be the symbol for love for it is where the emotions are being stored. It may look silly if brain is our symbol for love. Eew! Since the beginning of time we all know that brain is for thinking.

That's why if you feel that you already feel love, then you should let that person feel that he or she is special. Otherwise i you do not want to be hurt then try to make it systematically.

My other speech in Public Speaking

This is another speech of mine. I made this with the theme of “A poltical Candidate before a froup of UPian”. In this speech I assumed to be a political candidate running for the candidacy of being the Vice Mayor of Cebu.

Dean Daisy Pacaldo Aguila, faculty and staff, Iskos and Iskas, ladies and gentlermen, good afternoon.

It is a great opportunity for me to be your speaker this afternoon. It's nice to be back to my Alma Mater. Seeing all of you now makes me remember my teenage years. This hall where we are in right now was then the place where I hang out. It was then the place where me and my officers conduct the daily SC meeting, that about 4 years ago, wherein I served to be the SC president for four years. Being in that position was a way where I aimed to achieve a higher position in our barangay. With my dedication and dot being true to myself I was then hailed the Barangay Captain of Lahug. I was in term for almost ten years.

I even met the man of my life during those times. It was such a nice experience that I have.Being a leader is such a great responsibility. One should have self confidence. The confidence to talk to people. A leader knows how to socialize with others, with that you will a lot of connections. Time management is an essential thing a leader must have. He or she should learn how yo manage time so that all works will be accounted for. Patience is another virtue of a leader. Patience is needed so that bonds between you and your members won't be broken. A leader is dedicated to his words and works. A work can't be done if you yourself don not like what your doing. These are just some of the virtues a leader has.

By living with those virtues. I am now on the way to be of service to Cebu. Joining the Sugbuanon Partylist , I am running for the position Vice Mayor of Cebu. I am running for this position because I want to expound my abilities. I am not just in to promises like the other candidates do but my goal to make a change. With the help of the people and the Sugbuanons I know this will not be impossible.

To all of you here in this hall, if you want to join politics, you need not have ll the awards before, the highest honors attained. For as long as you have the knowledge, confidence, and trust to your self. I know that you will achieve in life. We are all leaders because leaders are born not made. I know that Iskolars ng Bayan are our future leaders in the country. As young as you are, I can foresee how the country will progress within your hands. Just be your self and have trust to your capabilities.

This coming election choose those who you think deserves to be in the position. All I can say is vote wisely.

My speech for Public Speaking

Thus an introductory speech prepared by yous truly. This for our speech delivery in Public Speaking. The occasion of this speech is about the EDSA revolution anniversary.

Friends, fellowmen, ladies and gentlemen, a pleasant afternoon to all of you. EDSA revolution happened in the year 1986. This happened along the Epifaño de los Santos Avenue. It is an event that makes mark on our history. To commemorate this day, we are celebrating it's 21st anniversary. To enlighten our minds about EDSA revolution here I introduce to you our guest speaker this afternoon. It is a great opportunity to do such introduction to this well known individual.

He is a graduate of Political Science at the University of he Philippines last 2002 and now an incoming senior in his second degree of Practical Law in U. P. Los Baños. Since his childhood days, he joins forums, debates and other forms of discussions regarding the state of the Philippines. One of his favorite quotations is “It isn't how much you know, it's what you do with what you know”. No wonder he became very successful with his goal in life. He is known to be a man of few words, for when he speaks in front of you he will go directly to the point. If he says he'll stand out of the truth then he will do it. This only shows that a man with that kind of principle in life is also successful in life.

He is an active member of the so called “Pinag-isang mga Pilipino sa Pilipinas”. It is a group of people who encourages Filipinos from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao to know that we are Filipinos with one heritage, of one culture, of the same race and of the same blood and we opt to have a better future within ourselves.

With PFP's vision and mission, he is known to be a leader. A leader during his elementary and high school days, a futuristic leader. Nothing can stop his eagerness in doing great acts of patriotism, a good model to the children, teens and also to others. Even those in authority idolizes him for who he is, for his contributions to our country.

So let's keep the ball rolling. Please help me welcome the ever dynamic Mr. John Albert Metoda. Let's give him a big round of applause.

And Beyond.....

Graduating is what every individual's dream. Right now I have in mind is all about graduation. We might have asked ourselves, “Can we graduate?”,”Are we going to graduate as a batch?” or “Will someone be left behind?”, these are just some of the questions we have in mind. It is about one month to go then we will all go to college.

“Oi, unsay course imong ganahan kuhaon inig college?”, “Asa ka mu-school?”, these are just some of the questions which I heard from my classmates. Since the beginning of the school year, i am really confused on what to take up in college. I have a lot of preferences but by balancing the possibilities or the possible outcomes, somehow made me very confused.

“Pag – teacher day ha,inig dako nimo kay aron dako ka ug suweldo.”, this phrase is what I always hear from my aunts and parents. I t somehow influenced me in dreaming of becoming a teacher. Since my childhood days, I really dreamed of becoming one. It is because I was influenced by the easiness and the big salary if you are a teacher. Teachers also are in demand abroad. Another thing that influenced me are my aunts, who are all teachers. One is a college teacher in VISCA, the other is an elementary teacher in Lahug Elementary School and the other is a high school teacher in Mactan National High School. Being a teacher is my firs choice to take up when I am in college.

Then when I am in elementary, my mathematical ability was enhanced. This was because most of time I joined a lot of contest in math and fortunately I grabbed all the top prizes. With what had happened, it then started my enthusiasm to take up Accountancy or BS Management or BS Mathematics. I was amazed because I had this hidden talent of mine. It then started my confusion. As time passes by, this enthusiasm of mine slowly diminished. My mathematics ability started to decline where in my grades decreases. It then let me feel frustrated. Then I was then ashamed because my friends have thought me to be a math whiz but then my grades not that high. So it then confused me again.

I asked advices from my parents but they said that any course will do for as long as I could handle the subjects and it will give me a brighter future. With that I was very encouraged and at the same time I was challenged.

I also wanted to take up Nursing for I want to go abroad and know that nursing is also in demand abroad and i really dreamed of going to abroad. With Nursing, I can earn a lot of money. Tis won't happen if I myself will not be patient enough and will not do any hard work. If I am going to take up Nursing, my dreams will all be fulfilled. These are just some of the things that is on my mind but up to now I still do not know what to take up in the near future.
